New Durum Varieties Meet High Standards
A constructive conversation between Svetlana Dolaberidze and Mikhail Orlov (an investor and a businessman, the founder of Agro-Invest and Ambika Group) was held this week. The focus of the meeting was Russian durum wheat – which regions are suitable for the climatic conditions, which varieties will give the farmer the right crop and, most importantly, the main buyer of durum wheat grain.
The varieties created by the Agroliga PSC have high quality indicators and meet the requirements of the largest processors Barilla and Casillo. Mikhail Orlov highly appreciated the work that our geneticists carried out, and expressed interest in further cooperation. Experimental sowing of the Taganrog and Bourbon varieties on the Danilovka farm is scheduled for the next year.
Durum wheat is a dietary product that gives the human body the necessary protein and fiber, and macaroni cooked al dente (“per tooth”, that is, slightly undercooked) will retain all the benefits of grain and will have a low glycemic index. The main objective and goal of the Agroliga PSC project is to create a Russian product to improve the quality of life of people.
