The Russian Academy of Sciences awarded a gold medal for outstanding achievements in the breeding of grain crops
The award was given to Petr Malchikov – head of research and development work at Agroliga Plant Selection Center, chief researcher of the Samara Research Institute of Agriculture, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences.
On June 22, 2021, the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) awarded the gold medal named after Lukyanenko, awarded for outstanding work in the field of breeding grain crops, to Petr Nikolaevich Malchikov, for the cycle of works “Theory and practice of breeding spring durum wheat»

The Lukyanenko Gold Medal has been awarded by the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2016 for outstanding work in the field of grain crop breeding. The medal was established with the aim of perpetuating the memory of the outstanding scientist and organizer of domestic science Pavel Lukyanenko, who bred over 40 varieties of wheat, and also developed a number of new methods of breeding this grain crop.
